Terms of use

Last updated October 3, 2026. You agree to these terms when you make an account, and when you start an analysis on the front page.

What Plysight is

Plysight analyzes chess games and helps you understand your own play. It's operated by Theodore Lattis, an individual based in New York City, United States, and it's an independent service, not affiliated with Lichess or chess.com. It's free to use and paid for by ads.

Ads

Plysight shows ads, matched to the page and to the general subject of your question, through an advertising partner. The privacy policy says what the partner receives and how to limit it. Plysight doesn't choose individual advertisers and isn't responsible for what they sell. It keeps whole categories out, and investigates any ad you report and acts on what it finds.

Reports and sharing

A report is made for you. A saved report is private to you unless you turn on its share link, which lets anyone who has it read that report. You're responsible for who you give the link to. Turning it off stops the link from working; copies or screenshots already made are out of Plysight's hands.

No promises about accuracy or availability

The analysis comes from a chess engine and rules of thumb; it's an aid to understanding, not a rating, a guarantee or professional advice. Plysight is provided as it is: it may be slow, unavailable, or change, and reports may be incomplete or wrong. To the extent the law allows, Plysight isn't liable for losses that come from using it, and where a limit is unavoidable, its total liability to you for all claims is one hundred US dollars.

If Plysight closes

If we plan to permanently close Plysight, account holders get an email and the site shows a notice at least 30 days before, and in that time you can delete your account or copy what you want to keep. An unexpected outage or an urgent closure may not allow notice. After a closure, what's on the live site is deleted; backup copies and what providers hold follow their own periods in the privacy policy, and anything the law requires to be kept is kept only for that.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top says when. For a change that matters, account holders get an email and the site shows a notice at least 30 days before it takes effect. Using Plysight after that date means you accept the change; if you don't, delete your account and stop using the site.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer protections that apply under the laws where you live. Questions: [email protected].
