How to get your games

Plysight reads a file of your games, called a PGN file. Most chess apps can save one. Here's how, app by app. When you have the files, go back to the front page and choose them under "Game files."

Chess.com

Checked 27 September 2026 against chess.com's help page.

You don't need a file: choose Chess.com on the front page, type your username, and Plysight reads your public games itself. If you'd rather send files, here's how, on a computer (the phone app saves one game at a time).

A month of games in one file

Chess.com lets you download every game from one month with a single link. Type your chess.com username and each link below downloads one month. Three or four recent months is usually plenty: Plysight reads your most recent 200 games.

The links appear as you type.

Each link opens chess.com in a new tab, and your browser saves the file, usually to your Downloads folder. These files include your clock times, which Plysight uses. If a month shows an empty page or an error, you played no games that month on chess.com, or the username is misspelled.

Or: choose games from your game history

  1. Sign in to chess.com and open your Game History (opens in a new tab).
  2. Tick the box at the top of the list, next to Date, to select every game on the page.
  3. Tick the clock icon beside the download button, so the file includes your clock times.
  4. Click the Download icon. The file saves to your Downloads folder.
  5. Go to the next page of your history and repeat. A page at a time is chess.com's limit; four or five pages cover 200 games. Plysight takes up to 10 files at once.

Lichess

Written 27 September 2026.

You don't need a file: type your Lichess username on the front page and Plysight fetches your games itself. If you'd rather send a file:

  1. Sign in at lichess.org (opens in a new tab) and open your profile.
  2. Click Export games: a download arrow near the top right of your profile.
  3. Choose which games to include, then click the download button at the bottom of the page. The file saves to your Downloads folder.

FICS (Free Internet Chess Server)

Checked 27 September 2026 against the archive's download page.

FICS games are kept by FICS Games Database, a community archive run by FICS members. It can give you a whole month or year of your games in one file.

  1. Open the FICS Games Database download page (opens in a new tab).
  2. Type your FICS name in Games of player.
  3. Choose the game type you play most (for example Blitz), and a year: this year, or whole year for last year too. Either choice for move times is fine.
  4. Start the download. The file saves to your Downloads folder, sometimes as a compressed file: open it first if it ends in .zip or .bz2.

The archive limits how much each person can download, so ask only for what you need: Plysight reads your most recent 200 games. FICS records the time spent on each move rather than the clock; Plysight works the clock out from it.

World Chess (formerly FIDE Online Arena)

Written 27 September 2026 from World Chess's help page.

World Chess saves games one at a time, so this route suits a handful of recent games rather than a whole history.

  1. Sign in at worldchess.com (opens in a new tab) and open your profile from your picture at the top of the page.
  2. In your list of games, open a week or month to see its games.
  3. Download each game's PGN. Plysight takes up to 10 files at once.

Duolingo

Written 27 September 2026.

Duolingo keeps a record of every chess game you play, but there's no official way to download it yet, and its account-data download leaves your games out. Plysight reads a Duolingo export file if you already have one.

Other apps and boards

Most chess apps, programs and electronic boards can save games as PGN. Look in the app for Export, Download, Save as PGN or Share → PGN. Save the file, then choose it on the front page. Several files, from several apps, count as one player: on the next screen you tick every name that is you.

Plysight never asks for your password for any of these apps, and doesn't sign in to them for you.
